Dust Baseboards Faster and Keep Them Cleaner Longer
· Mark Mendenhall
Baseboards collect dust where nobody wants to crawl around with a rag. Put the broom to work instead.
How to do it
- Clip or rubber-band a dryer sheet around the head of a broom or a flat dust mop.
- Walk the room and run it along the top edge and face of the baseboards. No bending, no kneeling.
- For grimy baseboards (kitchen especially), follow with a pass using a barely damp microfiber cloth.
The light anti-static residue a dryer sheet leaves behind actually repels dust for a while, so the job lasts longer. Touch up the corners behind doors — that's where the dust bunnies unionize.
