Keep Faucets Spot-Free Longer With Wax Paper

· Mark Mendenhall

Chrome faucets spot within a day in hard water country. Here's a hotel-housekeeping trick that buys you a week of shine in about thirty seconds.

How to do it

  1. Clean and fully dry the faucet first — wax over water spots just seals them in.
  2. Tear off a sheet of plain wax paper and rub the whole fixture firmly, wax side against the metal.
  3. Buff lightly with a dry cloth.

The invisible wax film makes water bead and run off instead of drying into mineral spots. It works on shower door frames and towel bars too. Reapply after each deep clean — it becomes a 30-second habit.
