Level a Wobbly Refrigerator in Five Minutes

· Mark Mendenhall

A fridge that rocks every time you grab the milk is annoying, and one that leans forward can keep the doors from sealing tight. Most refrigerators have adjustable front feet made for exactly this.

How to do it

  1. Pop off the kick plate or grille at the bottom front.
  2. Find the two leveling legs or rollers at the front corners.
  3. Turn them with a wrench or pliers — clockwise raises that corner.
  4. Set it so the fridge is level side to side and tilts back just a hair.

That slight backward tilt helps the doors swing closed on their own and keeps the cold air in where it belongs.
