Organize Pot Lids With a Tension Rod Inside the Cabinet
· Mark Mendenhall
Pot lids are the worst thing in any kitchen cabinet — they slide, clatter, and bury the pan you need. A five-dollar tension rod fixes it permanently.
How to do it
- Measure the inside width of the cabinet or deep drawer where the pots live.
- Install a small spring tension rod a few inches from the front, running side to side.
- Stand the lids upright in a row behind the rod, largest to smallest.
The rod acts like the rail in a file drawer and the lids stay put when you open the door. Works in a deep drawer too — lay the rod across and file the lids like records.
